- May 16, 2013, 5:30-7:30pm at the Broward County Historical Commission Building, 301 Harmon St., Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Dr. Mickelson will receive the Dr. Cooper Kirk Award for her book from the Broward County Historical Commission.
- May 17-19, 2013, Dr. Mickelson will be taking part in the Annual Conference of Biographers International Organization at the Roosevelt Hotel, NYC.
- June 19, 2013, 6-7:30pm at the Hollywood Public Library Multi-purpose Room, 2600 Hollywood Blvd: Book Signing, and an illustrated talk on "Hollywood, City Beautiful". Sponsored by the Hollywood Historical Society.
- June 20, 2013, Renaissance Hotel, Plantation, FL, the Annual Luncheon of the Broward County Library Friends. Dr. Mickelson will be attending as their guest, and will be selling and signing copies of her book.
- June 22, 2013, Dr. Mickelson will be in Winter Park, Florida at the Nonfiction Mini-Conference presented by the Florida Writers Association.
- October 5, 2013, 10:00am Dr. Mickelson will present an illustrated talk on the historical antecedents of Hollywood's beautiful city plan, for the Daughters of the American Revolution.
